Post I.V. Sedation Instructions
- The effects of the drugs may stay in your system for 4-8 hours. Do not attempt any activities which require alertness or quick responsiveness.
- You may sleep on and off for most of the day – this is good and will help to speed up healing.
- You may have some short duration amnesia effects from the drugs used and may have very little memory of the procedures done. If you have any questions about what was done feel free to contact us.
- Some people feel nauseated after I.V. sedation. Avoid taking in any dairy products the first day and this will help to minimize nausea. It is best to start with clear liquids and see how you feel before moving on to blended or solid foods/drink. Call us if there nausea is persistent or severe.
